Yesterday I spoke to a solicitor in Kilmarnock who knew New Cumnock. He asked me ‘Why would anybody want to stay in New Cumnock?’ I responded with a defensive list of the type of people we often have staying in our B&B, such as: Ornithologists doing bird surveys, Conservationists, Archeologists, and wedding guests attending weddings at the near by Lochside House Hotel. Shopfitters have stayed, and  a small company erecting wind turbine power in the local area. We have had cyclists travelling from Lands End to John O’ Groats. We have also had a couple of guests visiting Dumfries House. When Turnberry offered the golf open we were engulfed with visitors!

BUT I am now asking you the reader. Why Stay? Please leave your comments below.

I have just been reading explore Ayrshire & Arran with all its attractions, this might help you decide if it is worth staying in Ayrshire. We are only five minutes away from Dumfries and Galloway too!

Looking out of our B&B I see bright sunshine, blue skies and a great view of hills ready to be explored. We are so well placed for small walking groups or society of ramblers, for couples and families alike. This B&B is a great base of exploring both Ayrshire and Dumfries and Galloway. Often overlooked this area offers more than the more well-known attractions such as Loch Lomond, and Fort William. I hope we have what you are looking for in a well deserved holiday or short break.
