ART EXHIBITION 9th 11th Dec. 2010.

Scott the Manager of StillPoint Holistic Therapy Centre  invited Julie H. Winter to exhibit her paintings at his centre in Kilmarnock.

Scott and Julie met at a networking event hosted by Small Business Gateway. Scott liked the way Julie spoke with enthusiasm about her artwork and her passion for teaching art classes too.

The event was an opportunity for people to purchace unique gifts for Christmas 2010.

There was a prize of a gift voucher for £25.00 which was drawn from entries,  where people stated their three favourite paintings. The voucher was won by Shona Simpson used it towards a painting.Back of Afton Reservoir

The above painting, was raffled at £2.00 per strip. The winner was a young girl who worked in the cafe opposite StillPoint Holistic Therapy Studio.

ART EXHIBITION 26th 3rd Dec. 2010

Afton Water Gallery, was proud to present an exhibition where affordable gift sized original paintings, hand painted silk scarfs, and Christmas Cards of local area were on show. Other artists also showed off their artwork including  Alison Nairn, Elizabeth Hamilton, Valerie Walsh, Tom Wilson, Julie H Winter, Michael Flynn and Peter Howson.

Michael Flynn was hoping to sell a painting of Corsencon to raise funds for Cancer Research in memory of Bobby Guthrie’s sister, Liz. We are looking for a local sponsor or local group to come together and donate to this worthy cause. Michael is hoping to raise at least £300.00. He was recommended to Afton Water Gallery by Robert Guthrie, who recognises that the people of New Cumnock are proud of their community spirit.

Below you will find a selection of art that was in our Spring Art Exhibition 2010.

We were visited by fellow artists, people from the local area of New Cumnock, who were proud of our wee gallery and people from Prestwich, Ayr, Troon, Kilmarnock, Monkton, Sorn, Catrine,  Muirend, Kirkconnel, Coylton and Ochiltree. Thank you all for taking the time to view and buy works of art by our local artists.
